I've been having a few random thoughts floating through my head and one is, if the JET program is supposed to promote interculturalization, why do they hire people who can't speak Japanese? Doesn't that kind of reinforce the stereotype to the students that foreigners can't speak Japanese? Seems kind of one-sided, I suppose... Although, I'm not about to complain because if you had to be completely fluent in Japanese in order to be an ALT, I so would not be here right now. ^_^

I need to plan an elementary school lesson for tomorrow. The elementary school kids scare me but at the same time they are so enthusiastic that I can't help but love 'em. I just need to improve my direction giving ability. I can't really convey detailed instructions to kids who *can* understand English much less those who *can't*. LoL. I don't know what to do tomorrow... grr...
